I think Green continues to start as long as he proves himself in practice. He adds the extra dimension of being a duel threat, but with the speed OU has on D, he;s going to have to develop some moxie as well. I say go with Green, his redshirt ha b...

Hometown (City, State):
Omaha, Nebraska
Favorite Husker Memory:
"Easy, way too easy." - Corey Schlesinger said these words at the victory party at the Devaney Center the day after beating Miami on Jan. 1, 1995. The night before my mom, dad, brother, sister and myself sat in front of the tv and watched that beautiful game. We were down but still it was only 17-9 at the end of 3 quarters. We all believed NU would own the 4th quarter which they did. I do recall I did not sleep that night, in fact I watched the game again and then sat by our front door waiting for the Omaha World Herald to be delivered. The delivery guy gave me our paper, I opened it and read the headline, "NU National Champs" with a awesome picture. At that moment, I put the paper on the dinner table and went to bed for a few hours of much needed sleep after fearing the previous night was just a dream. Go Big Red. Restore the Order.
Watch Husker games at Memorial Stadium or on the Couch:
I have seen 5 at the stadium and many on the couch. I remember the first one I went to and I took my walk man in to hear Kent Pavelka's call. Anyway, we had row 10 seats on the 30 yard line. I was able to hear the pre-game show, but once Sirius started and then the game it was useless. I turned my headphones off, turned to my friend who had the tickets and during a lull in the action I told him I couldn't even hear myself think let alone hear the radio call. Memorial Stadium is the best

Believe in the power of Red.
Long live the Blackshirts, may they inflict pain on opposing offenses.

Live from BugahaWest: The future is bright, hopefully (OU) Sooner than later

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,

Whew, what a game this past weekend. I was quite excited for this one. I stayed up after work considering the really early start for AZ. (I love DST sometimes). The 9 AM start (for AZ) I thought might have some affect on our Big Red, but for the first half, things were looking great. The D set the tone early with the punt block for TD and offensively, we were doing everything I was hoping for, running the ball well and mixing some good passing by Cody Green. Things were… Continue

Live from BugahaWest: ISU 9, TO 8, NU 7 and some random rants

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

I said it last week that in all of football there is no such thing as a trap game. On any given Saturday, something like this past weekend could happen and you know what, it is gonna hurt big time. I didn't get to watch the game but I did listen to it via satellite radio. It was quite interesting because as I listened to the game I was rebuilding a fence piece in our backyard. I used that frustration to good work, nothing like driving a few three inch nails through a fe… Continue

Live from BugahaWest: It's the Texas 2 step, 2 steps forward, 2 steps backwards

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

In life, like in football there is a phenomenon called the perfect storm. The perfect storm is a deal where everything that can go right does for a certain amount of time. On the flip side though, there are bad perfect storms. The past 12 days have been a perfect storm on the bad side in BugahaWest, not only in writing and sports, but also on the personal side. Let's go back a few days to Sunday, Oct. 11th. I'm thinking it would be a great day as usual for a Sunday. Go… Continue

Live from BugahaWest: A 4th Quarter to Remember

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

I am sitting here on this fine Wednesday evening listening to the end of the 3rd quarter and into the 4th quarter of Thursday's game (thanks in part to another Husker fan site that puts the radio broadcasts up on archives). Before I go into the happenings of that mighty 4th quarter, let me let you in on a little secret.

I had to work Thursday night and when I left for work, NU was down by 9 with about half of the third quarter to go. When I got to work that night, I ha… Continue

Live from BugahaWest: The Byw week

Dear Fellow Fans of the Husker Red,

This past weekend had to be the toughest weekend so far this year. Every year it seems like that, but its only cause the fact that our beloved Big Red had an off week. After the beaut that was the LA-LA game, my thought was how could we have a bye week now. Yeah, it would be fine in terms of getting guys healthy, but the momentum of that win would diminish a bit over the course of 11 days. The one of many hopes right now is that the team brings the A+ game to… Continue
