It was a crisp night in HuskerTown
Our boys beat’n it up on the ground
When a man appear in middle of my tv screen
He had a big red beard and a mustache to match
And with a double take my eyes did catch
The baldest head that I had ever seen
Now, a strange thing happened as the battle rolled on
And all hopes for the Sooner victory was gone
This man stood up and dropped his drawls to his knees
With nothin’ on but that big red beard
People look’n at him like he was wierd
The man took off run’n ,…

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
Whew, what a game this past weekend. I was quite excited for this one. I stayed up after work considering the really early start for AZ. (I love DST sometimes). The 9 AM start (for AZ) I thought might have some affect on our Big Red, but for the first half, things were looking great. The D set the tone early with the punt block for TD and offensively, we were doing everything I was hoping for, running the ball well and mixing some good passing by Cody Green. Things were…

Hey Husker fans. I'm coming out to Lincoln to see the Huskers beat the Sooners on 11/7 with a friend who has family ties in Neb. It will be both of our first time to Memorial Stadium. I was hoping someone could give advice as to where in the stadium we should try to sit? Secondly, theres a chance his wife who is pregnant comes along and I was thinking club seats may help her out - does anyone have any positive or negative feedback on the club seating they could share? Thanks for the help. Go Hus…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
I said it last week that in all of football there is no such thing as a trap game. On any given Saturday, something like this past weekend could happen and you know what, it is gonna hurt big time. I didn't get to watch the game but I did listen to it via satellite radio. It was quite interesting because as I listened to the game I was rebuilding a fence piece in our backyard. I used that frustration to good work, nothing like driving a few three inch nails through a fe…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
In life, like in football there is a phenomenon called the perfect storm. The perfect storm is a deal where everything that can go right does for a certain amount of time. On the flip side though, there are bad perfect storms. The past 12 days have been a perfect storm on the bad side in BugahaWest, not only in writing and sports, but also on the personal side. Let's go back a few days to Sunday, Oct. 11th. I'm thinking it would be a great day as usual for a Sunday. Go…

I've been reading the posts about everybody raving that the season is over. We Lost a game to a team that wanted the win more than we did. We were ranked well above our skill level in the polls. We were not a top 25 program going into the year and that has finally been shown. I don't doubt that there will be ample ass chewing for some time to come, but that is something that needs to be done. Our guys got complacent with their ranking. They thought that TT, ISU, Baylor, and CU would see our migh…

After watching the lopsided loss to Texas Tech today, I know that many fans will start wanting Bo's head. Give him a chance. He needs time to build his team and recruit players that don't quit. In another 305 years NU will be back, but it will take time.
In watching the game, you can't help to see the issues. Our Offensive linemen, especially both OT's are horrible. No quarterback can make a play without some time to look downfield. And, the line is so bad, you can't generate a running game. Do…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
I am sitting here on this fine Wednesday evening listening to the end of the 3rd quarter and into the 4th quarter of Thursday's game (thanks in part to another Husker fan site that puts the radio broadcasts up on archives). Before I go into the happenings of that mighty 4th quarter, let me let you in on a little secret.
I had to work Thursday night and when I left for work, NU was down by 9 with about half of the third quarter to go. When I got to work that night, I ha…

That my friends, was a game for the Ages.
It was ugly beyond compare for 3 quarters of Football. Penalties, Turnovers, Slipping and Sliding all over the field. Bad Passes, Poor blocking, SPECIAL TEAMS PLAY, were highlights of a Soggy night in Columbia.
Then... The rain lessened in intensity and the Mighty Husker Defense (soon to carry the beloved Blackshirts) showed the country that THEY ARE as good as advertised. The miscues against VT were a fluke, and that Defense can win championships! I m…

Dear Fellow Fans of the Husker Red,
This past weekend had to be the toughest weekend so far this year. Every year it seems like that, but its only cause the fact that our beloved Big Red had an off week. After the beaut that was the LA-LA game, my thought was how could we have a bye week now. Yeah, it would be fine in terms of getting guys healthy, but the momentum of that win would diminish a bit over the course of 11 days. The one of many hopes right now is that the team brings the A+ game to…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
Saturday reiterated for many of us in Husker Nation as to why there is truly no place like Nebraska. There is beauty all around us in God's great creation, but Saturday in Lincoln in the sporting world sense gave us a glimpse of heaven on field turf. This past Saturday was culmination of many things that we all hold true to our hearts, and hell, the game wasn't half bad either. So let's start to rock no roll with a bit of a lead-up and then get to some meat and potatoes…

Does anyone know, what kind of football is used for Nebraska's home games? I remember they used to use a Wilson GST when Solich was still there. I was wondering if the ball has had any influence on the catches made vs. missed.

Dear Fellow fans of the Nebraska Red,
I took a extra day and basically stayed away because to be honest I didn't know what to say about this last game. My original gut feeling when the game ended was you have to be kidding and in all my years of being a Nebraska fan, I don't think a loss ever stung so bad, not even the FSU game in the 94 Orange Bowl. I really don't want to talk about any other game of the past week, this will be strictly from the heart and strictly on the NU game.
Let's take a…

4 and 1 we are leading with less than 2 minutes to go in the game and we have the ball. I know we need to think conservative; however we are on the road in a hostile enviroment this will never happen again right. Go for it...your playing the #13 team in the nation; draw up a play or fake the punt do not give up the ball....get the first down and then run out the clock for a win. Sounds good right....we kicked the ball and gave them a chance leaving our defense in prevent formation with botched c…
