The Huskers take the Big Red show on the road this weekend as they face UCLA in what could be their future Bowl Detination, the Rose Bowl (I love wishful thinking). UCLA is a big step up in competition this week as the Bruins put a huting on Rice last weekend 49-24 (YEs I am aware that it was Rice).
On offense I think that the Huslers will keep rolling with Martinez using his stable of young, fast, and intelligent receivers to push the ball down the field and open up the running game for Abdullah and the other backs (No Rex this week?). I'm hoping to see Kenny Bell get a few more grabs and I beleive that Turner will make some big plays this week with Timmy watching from the sidelines with an injury.
On the Defensive side of the ball I'm sure we will get to see a lot more of our three senior linebackers making plays against a talented UCLA backfield. Jonathan Franklin ran wild last week with 214 yards and 3 TDs, but he was not going up against the front four of the Blackshirts. I think Franklin will definetly crack 100 yeards, but he won't be end zone danncing nearly as often. The corners and safeties willshut down (that's right I said SHUT DOWN) the UCLA receivers and NU will roll to an impressive win.
Husker - 38
UCLA - 21
Bold Prediction: Though not so bold Ameer Abdullah will have his first 100 yard rushing day as a Husker and Imani Cross will rush for his first TD. On Defense Papuchis turns Eric Martin lose on UCLA QB Brett Hundley. Word on the street is that Martin is chomping at the bit to make some noise in his home state and I predict he will finish the game with one sack and two tackles for loss (Go get em Caveman).
