So, if when we beat Clemson, do you think we'll be in the Top 25?? Do you think we have to slaughter them to be in the Top 25 or can we just pull out a win and still be rated?

I see this as very important, as well as giving us momentum into next season to have a big win against Clemson. I guess ratings don't mean squat - but I think it will inspire so much confidence in us going into the 09 season.

Thoughts??

I think with a win we should be, with a slaughter of Clemson it had better be! I agree that the momentum that would give us is priceless. Did you catch that Mizzou win tonight?
Great question Nate....do you think that if we win that we should pass 4-loss Northwestern in the rankings?

The other "NU" missed a PAT and then took a loss in OT to Mizzou....a team that slaughtered us 52-17.

They also made a terrible decision to punt to Jeremy Maclin with a 10-3 lead and less than one minute to go in the first half...Maclin predictably burned them for a 75-yard TD. MUs offense would not likely have moved the ball into scoring position otherwise.

MU scored one TD in 4 quarters against Northwestern...and MU was the #6 offense in the country. We all know that Northwestern does not play great defense having given up 45 to OSU and 37 to MSU.

This game makes me very worried about Big 12 defenses in the upcoming bowl games and, of course, I always worry about our LB and DB play.

I hope that we have this problem to worry about....but right now I'm worried about Clemsons speed; particularly after watching what FSU did to Wisconsin....

The BADgers don't have a player like Ganz but they have an excellent running game, good receivers and a decent defense. Like NU they lack big play potential and team speed.

Clemson has great speed and a Top 20 defense.

The game worries me but I still think it will end up 31-27!
-Agreed
-I see your point
-I like your prediction! Assuming you have NU with the 31
i agree too... it doesnt help that chase daniel choked tho
MU is a shadow of the team that was in Lincoln earlier, between the actions of Chase and Maclin and a couple of defenders they have come apart at the seams. The turmoil after the NU, and UT games in the locker room have caused Pinkel to loose this team, and staff. They will lose double digit starters and a couple of Coachs... Clemson has NFL talent in their DL and a Oline that hasnt been good all year, and has drawn higher marks later in the season against lesser talent. In my opnion this game will be all about the trenches as usual. Look for Asante to be a impact player in this game, really one of the only games we can use him in the box a few times. I like Northwestern and especially Pat, but voters will give our schedule the nod if we compar with them in the end.
I also heard that he had the flu.
As much as I would love to see Nebraska squeak into the top 25, I really don't see it happening this year. West Virginia, FState, and California, teams directly ranked ahead of us all had wins today. It would take a huge win on Nebraska's part and Nebraska would have to play with perfection to hop past these teams, whose wins granted, were close in points. . Sorry guys but I think we have to wait til next year to hit the top 25...but we can always hope that Devaney is smiling down on us this New Years Day.

Tight ends coach Ron Brown helped Nebraska win nine games or more in 16 of 17 seasons during his first stint at the school. He agreed with Alberts on the importance of meeting the old standard.

And Brown isn't ready to forget about making it back into the top 25.

Happy to see that Ron Brown was interviewed here.

Let's not forget....Ron Brown is an Ivy League graduate from Brown University (as is JoePa). He is a class act.

Nice to know that Jason at least respects Ron Brown...one ex-Brown player.

Hail to Sean Morey (good old #87)....a Brown U player headed to the Pro Bowl!
with the BC loss and if oregon state loses then we have to still beat CU by at least 14
To those who do not believe and yet say they are Husker fans well, Big Red runs through my bones on a daily bases and if not check your heart as your not a HUSKER NUT..............................I believe eat , sleep Huskers, and I have earned the right to feel this way. To all the guys who have played know this, I have bench 600+, squated1000+, and deadlifted 700+ and yet when I had the chance to walk on to the field I stopped before doing so. That carpet is for the BEST OF THE BEST, and not me as I have never played for the Mighty Red but bleed red when ever they are mentioned.
In most places a phone call to God is 1,000,000,000 and here in BIG RED COUNTRY the phone call is FREE as it is a local call...God Bless our Huskers
