35 28. The real NU
Old Yeller Corn - 31
Mild-cats - 24
Tough call. This spread opened at 3-3.5, went up to about 4 and then back down to 3.5. Home/away really hasn’t mattered in this series so no-fan Covid shouldn’t impact the result much. Their grass field reminds me of the days back at Columbia where it’s kinda long and tears up easily. Likely a bit of an athletic neutralizing factor. Are we actually more athletic than them though?
The entire 9 game recent series results have gone 5-4 in NU’s favor. The overall net difference of +24pts for NU is fueled mainly by the 21pt victory in 2014. Otherwise you have 8 games with a net total of 3pts. That’s about as even as it gets.
Ramsey hasn’t been amazing in two games with a total stat line of 33/48 330 1TD/1int, 19 carries, 73yds 1TD. But he’s probably as balanced of a QB they’ve had in years. Bowser is a solid, strong RB with Anderson as a mix-in. They’re defense is always well-coached and solid tacklers under a seasoned coach with Fitzy.
We really don’t know what we’ll see out of NU. Blown out by tOSU again where optimists tried to find positives. Cancelled game vs WI had led Husker fans lost as to growth and development.
9 carries by Mills was a head scratcher. Is this going to be a QB run show again? Is the loss of our 2 starting DBs something that NW can exploit? I do agree with Sip that Frost needs to show something with a victory today. A loss pretty well turns this season into a shortened slog to the finish again. A win by NW probably puts them into primo position to win the west. Trust me, Fitzy knows this.
A smart bettor probably just bets NU on the money line. I’d personally stay well away from this one.
NU 24 NW 26
