"When did the damn circus come to town?! I didn't see no trucks!"
Did we REALLY just give up 6 bills of offense to WYOMING?! You know it was their first game too right? No more movie nights and pranks. I bet Nick Saban doesn't have any "movie nights." I think Papuchis is in over his head. He clings to Bo on the sideline and looks as nervous as his players. Combine bad recruiting with an inexperienced DC, and this is what you get. We ran Craig Bohl and Kevin Cosgrove out of town for much, much less. The school has money.....they should have brought someone in who knows what they are doing. That's how Bo got into the program, right?
The good news is at least the schedule is pretty easy!
Scary, all I can say!
Very scary Abby. I know Wyoming has a good QB, but bottom line, they are still on the bottom half regarding the difficulty of opponents on the schedule. Northwestern looked good against a better quality opponent. Michigan looked good. UCLA put up 58 against a team that beat Wyoming last season.
I stand by my point about Papuchis. Even Bo's biggest supporters have to admit that Bo was a seasoned coach brought in to fix a messed up defense (not nearly as messed up as the current one of course). Then other schools (Oklahoma and LSU) hired him as an "experienced" coordinator to maintain an already strong defense. Other schools have "seasoned" coordinators who were even head coaches and great recruiters. Let's put off the national titles and conference championships for a second. Giving up 600+ yards of offense to average teams cannot and SHOULD NOT be the new normal around here!
Our guys STILL don't know how to tackle. At least two TD receptions last night were the result of blown tackles (Green and Cooper). Forget about the fact that the QB had all of the time in the world. Forget the fact he made a perfect throw, and forget the fact the receiver made the catch. You have to bring him DOWN! You never know what can happen after that (an offensive penalty, a turnover, or limit them to just a field goal). It's getting frustrating! I really want to see these guys succeed, but I wonder if they have the right leadership, or maybe Callahan's recruits we're just that good (in which case we need someone on the staff that can recruit).
Maybe that's the problem. Bo always had the benefit of using other coaches recruits (Solich, Stoops, Miles, Callahan).
Tomko - Don't say that I didn't tell you so about Bo.
Is he going to win our first conference championship since 1999 this season?
Wyoming a 4-8 football team in 2012.
Eric Crouch on BTN saying that they are very excited about the future of this defense. Getting paid to be a shill.
UCLA gonna be UGLY this year...uglier than in 2012.
