Well, just got done watching the Nebraska men's basketball team lose to Kansas for the third time this season. I'm sure everyone thought that we were going to get blown out by twenty plus points, similar to the first two times we played KU. This time was different!
I didn't tune into the game until after the tip off, but watched from about 12 minutes left in the first half until the final buzzer. FIrst off, I couldn't believe that we were leading at half-time! Our defense was playing awesome, and we were hitting the open shot. The second half, my friends, was a different story.
Kansas came out drawing first blood after the intermission. Nebraska slowly lost the momentum and found themselves down by eight points. This was the story for most of the second half of play. We had a small surge near the end of the game, but it wasn't enough and the Huskers lost to the Jayhawks.
I was reading an article from the Journal Star this morning how Doc Sadler has done wonders for this basketball team. This is his third year as head coach, and he has steadily had improvements each successive year. It really would be nice for Nebraska to make it to the NCAA tournament. Twenty wins is all we need, right? Ohh, so close! Maybe next year, right? With Maric gone, we'll need somebody with some height to free up our guards.
