Is Nebraska the Final Resting Place for the Victory Bell ???

Well Husker brothers and sisters, 103 meetings between the Huskers and the Mizzou Tigers, which started in 1892 and ended on October 30, 2010, is now history. The object of the rivalry was to rip the living breathing heart out of the opponent, hold it in front of their eyes, and stomp on it, to diminish any thoughts of a Big 8, Big XII, or National Championship ....The Huskers did this to Mizzou over 60 percent of the time in the series, and each time, received the Victory Bell for their valiant efforts. The University of Nebraska will be the final resting place for the Bell, for eternity, as the Huskers move on to bigger and better things in the Big Ten....or is this really the final chapter in the rivalry?

If you really think that Big Ten has finished expanding for the forseeable future, it is the final chapter.....I DON'T THINK IT IS !!!!!

As Mike Golic of ESPN said when the Big Ten expansion rumours began to circulate several months ago, the era of the super-conference is upon us. Twelve teams in the Big Ten make it a BIGGER conference, but not a SUPER conference. However, 14 teams would put the conference in the SUPER category, and I think the next two candidates are Notre Dame and Missouri.

Notre Dame may finally give in and give up their independant status as a result of recent lackluster, losing efforts in their program. I thought Brian Kelly would give an immediate boost to the program, but that is not happening. Losing every week on National Television is getting to be a Fighting Irish Tradition, and when the next contract comes up for renewel with NBC, the Domers will have to pay NBC to maintain a television contract. I see the Domers caving in and accepting a Big Ten membership.

And now to Missouri. I still think that they are on the short list for Big Ten membership. They qualify in every category the Big Ten is looking for PLUS big television markets in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. I see Missouri coming to the Big Ten sooner than later....and then.....OUR RIVALRY WILL RESUME !!!

John, I would like to agree with you but I think you're wrong. Even if the Big 10 were to go past 12 to 16 the next four schools on the list would be Pitt, Notre Dame, Rutgers, and Syracuse. Delaney has said it in the past he wants to invade the NYC market.
